As hole sizes on models varies, in some cases they may require slight opening out, whilst in others a loose fit may be apparent, this is easily taken care with when the buffer is glued in To Position. On certain Lima models where the buffers also serve as an extra anchor point for the locomotive bodyshell, you may find it easier to adapt the frames to make removal easier.

Buffer Back Plates.

A1 have been asked for some years to produce buffers incorporating the square backplates that attach the real item to the bufferbeam. In turned brass where it starts with a round bar this is just about impossible. If a square bar was used The price would increase by a good margin and the heads are usually larger than the square in any case. In the case of most models the backplates are moulded to the bufferbeam. However if you wish to recreate them we offer a set of etched brass examples. Please note they will not fit small underscale bufferbeams and wagons from an era earlier than our range is intended for.
Turned Brass Shanks & Etched Steel Heads.
	A31	Elliptical, Chopped and Rectangular Buffers, 2 part set, straight Stepped shank. (While Stocks Last!!).	2.00
Due to the difficulty in producing these in turned brass, A1 Models now offer them as a set of turned shanks and etched steel heads. These can be made up into buffers of any of the three shapes listed above. One pack does all.
