The A1/Dinosaur range of diesel locomotive kits for extinct
(at least on BR) prototypes. 

They are mainly etched brass construction with a few turned and whitemetal fittings. They all require wheels, gears and motors to complete, and some small fittings. 

A1 do not supply More fittings Because they are available from other manufacturers & it Would Only cost you more this way, as in many cases A1 Models are buying at the same price as you. 

Not supplying wheels, gears and motor also has the advantage of allowing you, YOUR OWN CHOICE and allows the building of the kits in 00, EM and P4. 

The chassis are rigid but can be adapted for compensation.

the prototype for this locomotive appeared in 1952 and had a total of 60 cylinders and 6 separate engines. The kit will build a model of the locomotive in its original form, and as rebuilt as a 4-4-4-4. 

The Kit Comprises Body & Chassis Etchings With A Few Basic Detail Parts, But This Is Why The Kit Has Dropped In Price From £69.00 To Only £50.00.

These Shunters were originally 1136/43 and 11161/76 later becoming D2550/73 with the last survivor based on the Isle of Wight becoming 05001. Although not strictly accurate we now include an etched cab to convert the locomotive to the later members of the class D2574 onwards that had larger cab windows.

This kit will build one of this small class of locomotives in their original form with cowcatchers and wheel valences fitted for working in the East Anglian docks. 

As such the chassis is hidden and has been kept as simple as possible in fact a power bogie could be used instead.

Includes a different cab assembly to allow you to produce some of the many industrial versions of this locomotive, and also converts to the LMS examples.

The kit consists of an etched brass body Sheet. It was originally designed to fit a Bachmann Gandy Dancer chassis or you could use a Tenshodo SPUD. Two cabs are provided to allow you to produce different versions. 

Note – the prototype was produced in a variety of gauges so a narrow gauge model could be produced.
