61122 | DR BR 119 Loco. Epoche IV.Because the GDR was only permitted under RGW contracts to build locos up to 2000 HP, the order was given to the "23 August Loco Factory" in bucharest in 1974. When the loco had been delivered in two designs, the construction of BR 119-type diesel hydraulic locos commenced in 1978. These locos had two machine systems and electric train heating, so they were initially trouble-prone and not very reliable. After several changes and the replacement of the engines and gears the BR 119s-which could achieve speeds of up to 120 km/h- were also used for passenger trains. |

61181 | DR BR 118 Loco. Epoche IV.
The V180 diesel locos were the last big diesel locos to be developed in the GDR. Since the 4-axle locos were too heavy for many DR routes a 6-axle version with lower axle weight was developed. Between 1966-1970, the Deutsche Reichsbahn procured a total of 206 6-axle locos and used them throughout the DR network. |

61104* | DR BR 114 Loco. Epoche IV.Delivery of the V 100 model series loco was launched in January 1967 by V100 004. The series locos were painted in the regulatory DR colours. The wine-red appearance was given a less harsh appearance by adding a lighter colour stripe. The frame was painted black and the bogies grey. The main frame of the loco was reinforced in the middle of the bottom in a fishbellied way. The machines were supplied in this way until the V100 043. |
