Double Track Elevation Track Set With Banked Curves.

Double Track Station & Accessories.

Assembly of the station is a snap, literally! All pieces snap into place and a few screws need to be secured into place, but absolutely no Glue/adhesive is required. Plenty of detail is moulded into the pieces, including stairs and entrance interior. Detail stickers (some in Japanese) and small detail pieces, such as overhead sign boards, add even more character to the scene.

The most obvious application of track work across the deck of the Double Track Viaduct Station is parallel straight tracks. The full length of the deck can be covered with five (5) sections of #20-000 248mm Straight Track per line. Due to the width of the deck, however, there will be some empty space to the side of the tracks if this simple straight-through avenue is used.

A much more creative application is diagrammed above. The basic pattern has one track passing straight across the deck while the second line literally wraps around a centre Island Platform. You can see the straight-through track uses the five (5) sections of #20-000 248mm Straight Track as mentioned in the paragraph above, while the second line utilizes four (4) pieces of #20-160 481mm radius-15 degree Curved Track with three (3) pieces of 248mm straight. It is important to recognize only the R481-15 curves can be used with the Island Platform pieces specified (#23-100, 23-101 and 23-105) to create this smooth wraparound.

If two tracks through the station is fun, just imagine how exciting four tracks can be! A more advanced application of the basic pattern illustrated above can be achieved with the addition of a second #23-125 Double Track Viaduct Station Set or the #23-232 Viaduct Platform Extension Kit. The illustration below shows one end of the station deck expanded to double the width of the basic pattern. You can see this design incorporates a left (#20-220) and right (#20-221) #4 Turnout on the mainlines as they pass through the centre of the station. These turnouts allows for an outside diverging route to once again wrap around the outside edge of the Island Platform. Once again, the diagram is of only one end of the station deck. It is also important to note the deck sections are held together with the use of our S-joiner.
