II, 0-4-4-0T. Epoche I.Between 1899 and 1903, the
Maffei company from Munich delivered a total of 29 locomotives to
the Royal Bavarian State Railway. Due to its low top speed and the
low axle loads, these locomotives were mainly used on secondary
lines for pulling both passenger trains and freight trains. Suitable
traction locomotive for set 64000.

Series 52 locomotives, a version of the series
50 which had been simplified due to wartime conditions, were built
in large numbers from 1942 onwards. In this version, all
non-essential parts were eliminated and the design was further
modified to allow as simple a production procedure as possible.
After the end of the war, those locomotives which remained in use in
various countries and states were taken into the rolling stock
inventories of the respective railway administrations and many of
the simplified components were gradually replaced by higher-quality
parts.
